EASTER 2020 IN VERONA

This year Easter is celebrated on April 12, a good opportunity to spend a few days in Verona between events and celebrations.

The spring holidays are the best opportunity to enjoy a mini Easter holiday in Verona, famous all over the world for its historical and artistic heritage.

This picturesque city will offer you many alternatives, from a romantic walk to an interesting trip through squares and museums. Even a short weekend in this area we see you immerse yourself in a unique atmosphere made of historical monuments and new flavors.

Verona is in a central position on the Po Valley, easily reachable both by car and by train. To admire all the beauty and charm of this city just a walk through the streets of the historic center: in your itinerary you will not miss a stop at the Arena, one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres, which hosts the opera season, one of the most important cities.

Another important break is at the famous balcony of Romeo and Juliet, the scenario of the love story told by Shakespeare.

Juliet's house is a fourteenth-century house that isn’t far from the Arena, the whole intersection between via Mazzini and via Cappello and also houses a statue of the woman.

Passing through the shopping streets there are Piazza delle Erbe and its baroque palaces. A few steps you will then reach Piazza dei Signori: here stands the famous Loggia dei Signori, a beautiful Renaissance-style portico with a Venetian style.

For those who want to know the religious history of Verona or participate in an Easter function practically every neighborhood has its own church, but the most typical of all is certainly the Basilica of S. Zeno. It houses the remains of S.Zeno, the patron bishop of the city and wonderful works of art including an altarpiece by Andrea Mantegna and a beautiful bronze portal carved between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries.
